OBD2 live data: see what supported sensors report now
OBD CAN Live Data reads standard OBD-II Mode 01 parameters that your vehicle reports and displays the latest values while connected. It is useful when you want to check what is happening at this moment, such as engine speed at idle or coolant temperature as the engine warms. The values are observations from the vehicle, not a diagnosis or a saved test result.
Browse supported values while connected.
Save a sensor session, review charts and export CSV.
Configure a focused layout for the values you watch.
When a live reading helps
When a warning light or unusual behavior raises a question, Live Data can show supported values such as engine speed, vehicle speed, coolant temperature, intake-air temperature and calculated load in one list. Names and units depend on the parameter and app language. The available standard parameters vary by vehicle, engine and control module.
For example, while parked after a cold start, watch coolant temperature rise and check engine speed at idle. You see current values as warm-up proceeds, not a saved trace. One value cannot establish what is normal for every vehicle or identify a faulty part; use vehicle-specific service information for repair decisions.
Connect, check support, then start reading
Sign in, connect a compatible BLE OBD-II adapter, and open Live Data. The app initializes the adapter and checks vehicle support. When the check succeeds, tap Start to read values and Stop when finished. Inspect while parked and set up the phone before driving.
All supported live parameters can be read in the standard mode for free after sign-in. The optional selected-only mode for a custom subset requires membership. A supported parameter may still return no current value if the vehicle or adapter does not provide one.
Understand refresh speed and its limits
Values are requested one at a time, not sampled simultaneously. The app cycles through them, so adding readings generally makes each one refresh less often. Adapter speed, diagnostic protocol and vehicle response also affect timing; no fixed refresh rate is guaranteed. A delayed or missing value does not prove the system stayed unchanged.
Choose the right vehicle-data workflow
Live Data answers “what does the vehicle report now?” It does not save a time series, report or CSV. To review how readings changed over a session, use OBD2 sensor data logging. To arrange frequently checked values in a personalized gauge layout, see custom dashboard setup. The dashboard organizes a view; Live Data lists current supported readings.
Common questions
Will every car show the same sensors? No, availability depends on the vehicle. Does Start save a drive? No; use data logging for a recording. Can values diagnose a fault? No. Consider them with symptoms, trouble codes and vehicle-specific service information.
