Account & Data Deletion

We believe your data belongs to you. If you no longer wish to use OBD CAN - Car Scanner and want to permanently remove your account and associated data from our systems, follow the instructions below.

Warning: Deleting your account is a permanent action. We will completely remove your email, subscription status, account preferences, and any cloud-synced diagnostic reports (if applicable). This data cannot be recovered once deleted.

Method 1: Delete via the App (Recommended)

The fastest and most secure way to delete your account is directly from within the OBD CAN app. This process is instant and automated.

Open the App

Launch OBD CAN - Car Scanner on your mobile device and ensure you are logged into the account you wish to delete.

Navigate to Settings

Tap the Menu / List icon in the top left corner, then select the Account section (which displays your email and subscription status).

Delete Account

Scroll to the bottom of the Account menu and tap the red "Delete Account - Permanently delete all personal data" button. Confirm the prompt to instantly delete your data.

Method 2: Request Deletion via Email

If you have already uninstalled the application or lost access to your device, you can request manual deletion of your account by contacting our support team.

Compose an Email

Send an email to support@obdcan.com using the email address currently registered to your OBD CAN account.

Specify the Request

Use the subject line "Account Deletion Request". In the body of the email, simply state that you wish to permanently delete your account and all associated data.

Processing Time

For manual requests, your account and data will be permanently erased within 14 business days upon verification of your request.

What data is deleted or kept?

  • Deleted instantly: User profile, email address, password hashes, linked preferences, and manual diagnostic report uploads.
  • Retained data: We may retain fully anonymized, aggregated dashboard analytic logs (e.g., app crash occurrences) which cannot be traced back to you or your specific vehicle. If you made a purchase, App Store or Google Play retains your transaction history independent of our systems to comply with financial laws.
